WHAT IS THE PRIAPUS SHOT (P-Shot)?
To achieve the MOST effective results of your Priapus Shot® treatment, Thomas Pulice, PA-C takes a “significant” sample of your blood at the start of this procedure. Scientific data shows amounts less than 60cc’s of whole blood will result in a “clinically insignificant” Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) treatment. In our experience, 10 or 12cc’s will not be as effective as it becomes a PPP or Platelet Poor Plasma. Subsequently, Sub-therapeutic. More blood brings more plasma, which bring more platelets, which brings more growth factors. SIX times more to be exact. This high amount of growth factors is what will initiate the recruitment of stem cells to the area to heal, repair & rejuvenate. In our opinion, this high blood draw amount is the most vital component of a successful Priapus Shot® (P-Shot®) treatment.
Your blood is put into a centrifuge for separating the plasma & platelets from the red blood cells (RBC’s). Your plasma will now be a “yellow-straw” color. Remember, a P-shot injection syringe that is “red” contains red blood cells – this will decrease efficacy and increase pain level.
Continuing, we extract and place the yellow plasma into a 2nd container designed to further concentrate the remaining platelets. Just prior to injecting, we introduce activators into the super concentrated plasma / platelet solution creating a Platelet-rich Fibrin Matrix. At this point we quickly apply the PRP injection. Once the PRP comes in contact with the tissue, it will convert to a gel thicker than normal platelet-rich plasma. This matrix will keep the plasma localized to the shaft and glans of the penis for highest efficacy.
HOW IS THE P-SHOT DONE?
Thomas Pulice, PA-C takes a sample of your blood at the start of this procedure, which he then puts into a centrifuge for separating the platelets. He removes the red blood cells from your plasma and concentrates the remaining platelets again before adding activators to form the Platelet-rich Fibrin Matrix. This gel is thicker than normal platelet-rich plasma and must be quickly injected for it to work effectively.
DOES THE P-SHOT HURT?
Thomas Pulice, PA-C takes steps to ensure that you won’t feel any pain or discomfort when you have the Priapus Shot done. This includes applying a topical numbing cream to the area 30-40 minutes before you receive the injections. You might also have a nerve block done before the procedure, providing even greater protection from feeling any pain. You might feel a slight sense of fullness &/or heaviness that has been described as unusual or enjoyable.

HOW LONG DO THE RESULTS FROM THE P-SHOT LAST?
It varies from patient to patient based on different factors. In general, the results of the Priapus Shot should last for about one year. You’ll start to experience the effects on soft tissue around three weeks after treatment. And you should continue experiencing improvement in erectile dysfunction over the next few months.
